Some Build Idea's

Team Arena (for double weekends

We all know that on double-weekends, the TA will be flooded with players that usually would not be there, and try everything to get some gladiator points. They even play lame - w00t... ? Well, here're some thoughts of mine how to conquer that. Since we don't have gwBBCodes here, you should "know " the skills. I'll try to link them into Wiki, though.

Warrior : Eviscarate,Executioner's Strike, Disrupting Chop, Bull's Strike, Shock, Frenzy, Rush, Resurrection Signet

Elementalist : Mind Blast, Glyph of Immolation, Glowing Gaze, Liquid Flame, Energy Blast, Rend Enchantments, Fire Attunement, Resurrection Signet

Ritualist : Grasping was Kuurong, Ancestor's Rage, Brutal Weapon, Vital Weapon, Soothing Memories, Union, Binding Chains, Flesh of my Flesh

Monk : Word of Healing, Patient Spirit, Guardian, Draw Conditions, Mending Touch, Holy Veil, Pacifism, Disciplined Stance

"Holy Crap" like Achemd used to say. Why all this ? Well here's the basic idea behind this. Monk and Ritualist can disable two enemy damage dealers for 13-15s. That time should allow Warrior and Elementalist to finish of the enemy backline, while the team receives only little to no damage at all. In case you encounter stupid "jump-in-and-touch-to-dead" spikes, the Ritualist has the Grasping was Kuurong ashes. You will easily identify those teams, cast the ashes and ball up at the ritualist. When the enemy team jumps in, drop the ashes, then proceed as above. With only two remaining player's they can't spike anymore. It would be helpfull, if the enemy's Hex-removal is taken out first.. Naturally

(Missing-) Characters

Some characters do not exist anymore. My Necro I had in my core account got deleted, because I did not like her. Maybe i'll create a new one, but since I have unlocked all skills/mods, i'd rather create a new PvP character.

The story behind the characters

Even though my characters are split across 3 accounts, i still consider them kind of family. There is a whole underlying story behind all of them, and ultimately they all play an important part within a fantasy story, cooking up in my mind. However, a little background information and thoughts for all of you, who like the role-playing aspect

Trio Infernale

This trio consists of Amelia Karanndia, Echo of Tragedy and Medeor Recuro. While Amelia and Medeor are half-sisters, Echo is Amelia's Alter-Ego whenever it comes down to protection prayers. Amelia once said that it requires a different mind set to be a protector than a healer, so she tries to reflect this with her choice of an Alter Ego.

Historically, both sisters share a common father, who is mysteriously unknown to the rest of the world. What little is known points into the direction of their father being a travelling monk, even though the almost religious fervor with which both sisters will protect their father's honor and legacy would hint to something much more than just an ordinary monk. The absolute and utter secrecy they both share regarding any information about their father further gave rise to alot of wild speculations (neither confirmed nor unconfirmed, not event commented by the sisters).

They both had a somewhat troubled childhood. While Amelia's mother died during the Searing, Medeor's mother was killed by maurauding Dwarves in her refuge in the Far Shiverpeak mountains. Both sisters had to learn to take care of themselves early on in their lives, constantly facing harsh decisions and the resulting consequences. It certainly was never easy for both of them, but surely those events forged them into respectable characters.

Whatever happens in Guildwars, we are bound to see both of them again, when crossing paths with the Keepers of the Ossuarium.

The warriors

This is yet another trio, even though only one active member remains. Rek Arithea has heard Grenths call more than once, it is soon to be expected that he might "disappear" and venture into Grenths realm - for good. Tyr Nashak on the other hand seems to have had his share of fights and is all about retiring, however, can a warrior ever truly retire for as long as he is alive ? Lamentum Asperna is the only active warrior left, and the intends to make up for it.

Having ventured through all contintents, Tyr nowadays only becomes visible whenever a good, tanking warrior is required. On all other times, the manages to keep a very low profile and not even his current whereabouts are known. His ability to pop up just at the right place and time does however suggest that he is still very much involved in matter, even though he does not admit to anything other than 'pure chance'. Just before people where wondering about Tyr's absence, Lamentum appeared on the stage and took matters into her own hands. She is talented beyond her years and bravely fought any war waged upon her. Her timely appearance however suggests, that somebody else, probably Tyr, had a hand in all this. Overall, it seems strange that a certain core group of heroes are always at hand when they're needed, and some people have hinted around a conspiracy of sorts.

While only little is known about Tyr, and Rek has more or less left the mortal realm behind him, Lamentum grew up in a Warrior's monastery, to which she was handed in as an orphaned baby. Having bested all her teachers in combat, she emerged like a phoenix from the ashes when she stormed Tyria to keep the evil at bay. Her teachers have preprared her well for the task, since she moved on to Elona right after defeating the Lich in Hell's Precipe. She's currently seeking her way to Abaddon, something she would describe as "i will have a nice long talk with this fellow".

...more to come...

Conclusion

So, what to we have ? Two sister-monks sharing an unknown father which nobody knows anything about it, a warrior who seems to be retired but always shows up when needed, a warrioress appearing right before any deeper investigation into the warrior's absence could me made, effectively silencing them. Again, neither his father nor her parents are known and it all seems to be part of something far bigger which lurks beneath the surface.

Then there is the mysterious group called "The Keepers of the Ossuarium", which is hardly known to anybody. What role do they play, if any, or by whose rulebook ? And if they are truly the keepers of the hall of bones, who was once burried therein, and why are the keepers ? To protect the world from whatever is inside, or protect the inside from the world out there ?

Which role do the god play in all of this, as they seldom agree to a thing ? Is it ultimately that those poor humans are the god's pets in their chess-like game ?

The Keepers of the Ossuarium

The Keepers of the Ossuarium were (and still are) originally a group of friends of mine playing pen-n-paper RPG's as well as some browser games, such as G-Wars, which is effectively a clone of OGame or World Of Dungeons. I'm still in close contact that bunch - they all live in Austria.

Over the course of the past years, some sort of fantasy story keeps growing in my mind, and at some point will will write it down - eventually. Some of the characters within that story are played by old buddys from the Keepers, some chars are directly linked to my Guildwars characters. Most definately, Amelia and Tyr will be part of it, as well as Medeor and some others. For all of those who are interested, here's a bit of additional information on the story...

Introduction

War amongst the people of earth is most likely linked to arguments and disagreements between the gods themselves. While the gods hardly agree on anything, other than that they are the supreme rulers of fate of all that lives within their realm, they constantly fight each other. Sometimes openly, most of the times, however, it will be kabale and malicious spin doctoring and manipulation of everbody and -thing around them to get what they want.

So far, the youngest of the gods has been able to balance it out. Driven by his own fate, he is to pure to be evil, but tainted enough to be pure good himself. It has fallen to him to upkeep the balance between the gods, as destroying this balance will shatter the very foundation of the world itself. He knows this, his brethren should know it, but it appears that some neglect that particular knowledge.

Amongst all gods, the balancer is the only one to make a concious decision for himself, free of the neccessities that bind the other gods to their respective realms. It is because of this freedom, that they envy and seek to destroy him. With every ongoing conflict, wherever he has to balance out the imbalance ultimately created by his own brethren, a portion of his very essence has to be thrown into the mix.

The last Days

Our tale begins with the last days of Atlantis, which is doomed to fall. Raising the seas to pour their water into the land of Atlantis, while errupting the very earth itself at the same time creates a deadly receipe for desaster. Streams of hot lava, spit out from the volcanos that once fueled Atlantis for ages, violently explode when being hit by the cold and endless masses of water brought forth by the the ocean itself. The heart of Atlantis is immolated in a ball of fire and smoke, and only few people manage to escape.

There is a small and loyal group supporting the last Princess of Atlantis, and desperately trying to safe her and her unborn child from the wrath of the gods, the earth and the high Priests of the fanatic Cults. For there is a prophecy foretelling that this very child will once claim his throne and shatter the heavens to create a new order amongst the gods. Then there is a group of Priests and battle-hardened mercenaries, in pursuit of the small loyalist group to fulfill their dark gods orders and kill both, the Princess and the unborn heir to the throne of the World. And if this wasn't enough, there are traitors on both sides, driven by the gods themselves, each playing their own game in the grand scheme of things.

The Ossuarium

While fleeing the ruins of her former home, the Princess is befallen by a strange illness and withers away more and more each day. It seems, so everybody thinks, that they have a traitor in their midst and the small group of once loyal supporters is split in bitter agony and hatred, even though the true identity of the traiter could never be revealed. After days of painful delirium, the Princess finally dies, and the remaining guards decide to build her a tomb, hidden deeply in the mountains that gave birth to the destruction of Atlantis. With magical aid, they manage to create a shrine as a last resting place for their beloved Princess. Not withholding the tears in their eyes, each one of them swears an oath to protect this shrine, hence becoming the Keepers of the Ossuarium.

During the construction of the shrine, it seemed that all the guards had their own "dreams", or "divine intervention". Even though it is not clear as to which god is responsible for that, it is those dreams that ultimately makes them take the vow and make a stand into the belief that the prophecy will fulfill itself.

Wandering Years

For the next decades, the Keepers and their successors keep wandering the lands of men, hunted by the villains of the past, hunted by the gods, always on the verge of extinction. However bleak and dark the situation seems to be, somehow they always manage to survive and emerge stronger than before, just like a phoenix does. Secretly, they choose the rising phoenix to be their crest. The secret of the Ossuariums becomes folklore, and only the two original factions, stuck in the eternal battle of the gods maintain the true history and knowledge.

Since the order of the Keepers is mostly unknown and believed to be a bed-time story for small children, they are not prosecuted by the rulers of the lands they dwelve in - thanks to sheer ignorance. This allows them to act much like a secret society to obtain and hold positions of power within the courts of the various kings.

This is about the time that they manage to convince their kings to form some kind of special faculty, in wich the heirs of all rulers are tutelaged in the all sorts of arts. While the Keepers thrive to maintain peace between the kingdoms of men by ensuring that their future rules get to know each other as childhood friends, they fail to see how vulnerable this is to the seed of hatred, even amongst themselves.

While the order of the Keepers seems to become more and more decadent each day, a small group splits off to preserve "the old ways". Unknown to the people around them, they wander the lands, offer their services, but they never stay long enough at the same place to be remembered. A life in solitude awaits them, and since next to nothing is known about these wanderes, wild speculations spreads the land as to whay they do with their time while they're away from civilization.

A Son Reborn

It is around this time, many hundreds of years after Atlantis fell prey to the earth and the seas, that an overly talented, orphaned boy knocks at the doors of the faculty. He excels at almost everything he does, and it the struggle between the old factions intensifies, as both sides realize the importance of the child. The boy, however, does not seem to be aware of this and is always on the edge between the factions, drawn by temptation to either side.

No more Spoilers

Well, i have more on that story fixed in my mind already, and i don't really want to spoil it any further. You should have enough clues to figure this out for yourself, even through i left out quite a bit about the gods themsevles, locations, names, ... he only problem is, that i would need to write that story in German, my English's simply not good enough for that. But i could give you a rough translation of it...

Ultimately, the story itself is set in a way that i could stretch it all the way from fantasy into science fiction, turning the whole thing into an epic struggle between good and evil, with the universe itself as a price. However, if i ever want to get it published, i should keep the scope a little bit smaller :D
