A mix between SW:TOR and occasionally AION until we have Diablo3 and Guildwars2 available...

About Me:

Born quite some time ago back in Gemany, i started to mess around with computers at the age of 9 years. God, how my brother hated me for abusing his Commodore C64. Eventually, i got my own one (and later snitched his one when he lost interest) and went into programming, which brought me into the 'usual' career at that time. IHWY, a C64 Demo was one of the last things i did for that particular group, and what it tells there is a flat lie - i did all the code, we just 'inflated' the credits a bit.

After finishing school, i did the 'normal' mitlitary service which is kind of mandatory in Germany and started to study Physics at the University of Heidelberg. But soon I got cured of that particular notion, as theoretical physics can be quite boring / annoying (choose yourself). Ultimately, i decided that real life is much more interesting, and went to work.

Next i built up an Internet Cafe (back in 1997, you were a star if you had a 28k modem at that time) with a friend of mine, and expanded it from initial 3 terminals up to 30 terminals at it's peak. From there, I went into creating web-based shopping systems, all kind of database applications and consulting - nothing out of the ordinary.

After marrying (which was a mistake) and happily getting divorced 2 years later (which was the right thing to do) I went on to lovely Sydney in Australia to live and work there for some time. From there, i moved back to Germany, and via Switzerland to London, and (hopefully this weekend) to New York City.

Anyway, moving on, i always was into computers and games, as well as into Science Fiction (starting with Neuromancer) and Fantasy books. After absolutely adoring Diablo 1, 2 and LoD, I happened to hit Guildwars on a shelf and thought to give it a try - and still am hooked to it, like a little drug addict. Which brings us up to... Happened during a FoW Clear

Other Games

As mentioned, i started quite early on playing computer games. I really loved playing Defender of the Crown, as well as Great Giana Sisters, along with some other cool stuff of that time. Silkworm (and SWIV) got me hooked, as well as Lotus racing games.

On the PC, i kinda played Doom, Comanche and absolutely adored Diablo I, II & LoD. I still have it installed on my computer to the very day. As far as D2LoD goes, i'm back there with a currently lvl82 FO Sorc, and a yet-to-finish Bow Amazon.

Today, apart from Guildwars, i also pay Rohan: Blood Feud (naturally i'm a healer in that game) and have checked out a couple of other games, which mostly turn out to be Grinders. You can find me as 'Medeor' on the Ahkma server there...

Guildwars

Ah yes - one thing right away. I actually have three accounts, so i sometimes get mixed about. My core account however is with SF, if we need, i can bring along another account, if needs be. The third has it's own guild/hall with all henchmen, so i'd rather not give that up.

Reliq Running Monk

While playing HA one night, we happened to come across a team in the UW reliq run which was kinda strange. I don't exactly recall how, but ultimately, my RC ended up running our reliq and i still had enough time to get into position for a screenie. That run was unfortunately prematurely ended my [mOwl] on Golden Gates. For 20 minutes we more or less had the upper hand with our random team, but since [mOwl] (which translated 'Men without a Real Life') did NOT kill our priest initially, they managed to kill our Ghosty 2 times, which gave them a morale boost, so they ultimately won this.

To the very day, i absolutely refuse to play Bunnyway in HA. For startes, i consider that build a lame one, then it's not really effective. It usually takes no longer than 2min to kill a BWay, most of the times flawless. Why do people still play that shit ? I rather prefer a Balanced, Contagion and a Rangerspike (even though that is quite lame, too)

When i started out with Guildwars, i initially created a male Elementalist, named 'LLugh Strongarm'. This poor chap only survived till level 5 or so, when i first entered '/dance' and saw him do his moves. Next thing i can remember is, i deleted the character, and swore to myself to never make a male elementalist, or if, to never have him dance. Keept true to the very day, i only have one female elementalist on my 2nd account.

Next came a warrior Tyr Nashak, which still exists today. I more or less played the typical Wammo type of thing, until i got bored carrying barrles in the Sorrow's Furnaces or Tomes in FoW. Around that time, i created my little sweet monk Amelia Karanndia, loved to play monk and to be the master of red bars (my Warrior has ~1mio XP, while Amelia has ~13mio XP).

I went through all the other character classes , only to find out that in PvP, i am not suited for a couple of thing. I can play a Monk, thats my calling. Flagrunner is good as well, and potentially i can grow into a 2nd warrior, with a hell of a lot of training. My epic fail is a Ranger, and i somewhat average on a Mesmer. Paragon is kinda boring, and i never really liked the Dervish in the first place. Due to the nature of playing a monk, i sometimes had to play the Snare and i quite like playing a Necro in Arenas.

Bottom line, Backline it is for me, even though i am sometimes using my favourite Warrior Lamentum to go for hack'n'slay in Arenas and as 2nd warrior guest in low ranked guilds.

Guild History

I don't like hopping, so i always tried to refrain from jumping from one guild to another. However, as life goes on, some changes can not be avoided...

The Lost Monkeyz [LMz]

As i had played a few browser games with some old friends, and managed to drag them into the world of GW, we re-created our old UT "Monkeyz" clan and formed up as the "The Lost Monkeyz [LMz]". That was early on in my GW career, and mostly limited to PvE only. None of us had yet discovered the PvP aspect of the game, even though i tried my luck with the FI Boonprot template that you could automatically load a fresh PvP slot with. After a year of happy playing, it seemed that people got more interested into EverQuest 2, so most of the Clan left, and the core is still playing EQ2 today.

The Dark Rolplayer [TDR]

Being guildless is kinda lonely, and i was not really in the PvP mood after disbanding [LMz]. I got hooked into a smallish guild and was promoted to an officer there, to keep an eye on the children. Most of my PvE knowledge comes from these times, and friends still refer to me as "Wikipedia" at times (even though i don't know Nightfall and GWEN equally good as Tyria..). I left the guild when the alliance was disbanded and people started shifting loyalties around. I finally wanted to stop PvE, and a guild with no other PvP members isn't the real thing. Additionally, i did not think it would be possible to mix-match both directions into that particular guild, so i left on good terms and still occasionally play with those guys. (I think they moved to Rohan, though)

Curse Of Tyria [CoT] / Obszoene Rudeltiere [BaNN]

Both guild were in an alliance, and we fusioned them together to focus on GvG battles. We managed to get [BaNN] into the Top 600, however certain rooster changes did not sit well with the ranking, so we ended up smurfing alot. The alliance dissolved, partly because players lost interest into Guildwars, partly because playing a regular GvG seemed to much to ask for (at least that's the way some members saw it). Ultmately, we played once or twice a week, which is not good enough keep your position in the ladder, let alone advance any further. Some members went into [1337]-'leetish-PvE-i-got-more-money-than-u' type of guild, while others left. The leader at that time is still involved with GW, and i saw him looking for a Top 150 Flagrunner position on QQ. Good luck to him.

Igneus Ira [AI]

I never made it any further than trial membership. The guys are nice, i'll give them that, and occasionally they ask me to guest for them or their alliance Mundane Fabulous Guards, but they were only doing GvG rarely, once or twice a week. After 4 weeks of trial i decided not to go for a full membership as this was not what i was looking for.

Friendly Fire On [LoCK]

I joined built this small guild that was ranked Top 500 and was dedicated to GvG and GvG alone. For some time, we constantly played 5 times a week, but never managed to peak any higher on the ladder. We had serious issues in the midline, as well as tactics, so that put a natural barrier on our ranking. The guild has been dissolved since a couple of the players wanted to do their own thing and could not manage to tell us outright what was going on. So they went down the sneaky alley, dissolved the guild, ranted about quitting GW and all that, just to form up a new guild 2 days later. Suffice to say that they don't play together anymore.

| Strike Force | / Strike Force [|SF|] / [SF]

Since i knew i was moving to the States, i did not bother to look for another guild in Europe, but rather went on to look out for an US based guild. Darvell contacted me, and invited me to a couple of test matches. I kinda liked what i had seen and heard there, so I joined this crazy bunch, with the intention to stay. Lain warned me that his calling style was a bit agressive, but to be honest, i kinda like that style. Be like the wild, barbarian horde that invades the enemy. Yeah. Grow beards and all that. Perfectly suits me, so here i am.

SF using SF to win Halls... thx to all on the team :)
